Description
This is an extremely rare find of fossil marine reptile bones (Plesiosaur), consisting of 38 in total, all of which were found together and from the same animal. It was found many years ago at Port Mulgrave, Whitby, North Yorkshire, England and after preparation, it was displayed for many years in the fossil shop & museum located in Robin Hoods Bay.
It is truly a very special find and something like this you will potentially not see for sale for a very long time, a museum quality specimen !
All of the verts have been 3D prepared to a high standard and they have excellent colour, detail and preservation. There is a total of 38 vertebrae, 14 of which are single and not attached, but the remaining 24 are together in columns of 5,4,3 or 2.
The long column of verts which have been pictured, only consists of the verts that are attached together in 2's, 3's, 4's etc and no singles, although they are still pictures to show.
The length of the vertebrae column pictured on the table is 1.2 metres / 47 inches.
The diameter of the vertebra is 8cm for the largest and 5cm for the smallest.
